Lions Femina holds 7th car rally

The 7th car rally organized by the Lions Club of Patna Femina was flagged off from Boring Road crossing here on Sunday morning by the general manager of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), BB Choudhary.

PATNA: The 7th car rally organized by the Lions Club of Patna Femina was flagged off from Boring Road crossing here on Sunday morning by the general manager of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), BB Choudhary. In all, 35 cars participated in the rally.
The rally, which has ‘Progress of girl child’ as its motto, reached Pragbodhi near Gaya around 1.30 pm. They were scheduled to return to the state capital later.
"This time our focus is on the progress of girl child, especially in the field of education.

Funds collected through entry fees will be donated to agencies working for the welfare of underprivileged girl children," president of the club, Shikha Sen Sahay told TOI.
The contestants were classified into three categories. The first category was "all woman", in which the navigator and driver both were women. There were 10 such teams. The second was "couple category" where either the navigator or driver was a woman. The number of contestants in this category was also 10. The third category was "all men category", where both driver and navigator were male. There were 15 such teams.
The award ceremony will take place here on March 8, when winners of the rally would be announced. The competition was held in time, speed and distance format and the participants were not allowed to drive at a speed of more than 40km/hour.
